Data Analyst and Business Intelligence Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst and Business Intelligence Specialist to join our team at Global University Systems. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering actionable reports and dashboards for business stakeholders on the performance of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver required project inputs according to time, quality, and budget requirements
  • Ensure progress is accurately communicated and expectations of various stakeholders are managed effectively
  • Proactively integrate new technologies for more advanced analytics, including PowerFlow, PowerApps, and Machine Learning
  • Set up Dataflows for ETL and maintain them
  • Provide Power BI desktop and cloud platform, gateways, and administration support and expertise
  • Suggest improvements and best practices and take ownership of implementing them
  • Provide good DAX, data modeling, and basic M (Power Query Editor) capability
  • Produce and enhance reports and dashboards
  • Provide technical input and effective data analysis to projects to support the achievement of deliverables to time and budget
  • Maintain knowledge on business and technology trends that impact the business environment

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in MS Power BI
  • Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams
  • Experience producing data structure diagrams and documentation
  • Very strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with best practices
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, self-starter, and maintains a positive attitude
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; coordinate complex projects, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Very good understanding of relational databases
  • Required experience/knowledge of a software or programming environment: MS Power BI, Sharepoint, Azure, Redshift, Dataflows
  • Power query/M, DAX
  • Optional, but preferred experience with: SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SQL, AWS Glue
  • Other reporting tools like: Tableau, Quicksight
