Overview of the Team

The Customer Support Division is dedicated to providing exceptional assistance to our clients throughout their engagement with Lam. We enhance performance, safety, and quality for our customers' installed systems while delivering comprehensive service and lifecycle solutions for their critical equipment and processes.

Your Contribution

This role can be situated in various locations. As a Field Service Engineer at Lam, you will play a crucial role in customer support. Your responsibilities extend beyond mere installations and troubleshooting; you will ensure the operational excellence of our sophisticated semiconductor machinery. You will be at the forefront, comprehending customer requirements and collaborating with diverse teams to provide effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality on-site repairs, maintenance services, and complete installation/start-up services for Lam's intricate electro-mechanical and electronic systems at client locations. Engage in analytical problem-solving, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and isolating issues to the component level, implementing corrective measures to reduce downtime and equipment failures. Stay informed about semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through ongoing learning, training, and certification. Assist in complex field modifications and updates, maintaining thorough records and reports to coordinate activities between Lam and the client. Act as a subject matter expert, representing Lam to our esteemed clients, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. Develop troubleshooting and customer response action plans to address client needs effectively. Openly discuss opportunities and challenges with clients to foster trust. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related discipline with 5+ years of experience; or a Master's degree with 3+ years; or equivalent professional experience. Prior experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment. Proficient in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operational manuals. Capable of working in a clean room environment while utilizing personal protective equipment. Able to perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, reaching, walking, sitting, twisting, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, based on client requirements, with flexibility to work various shifts, including compressed and alternative workweeks, as well as overtime and on-call as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient in basic computer skills and familiar with common office software, including Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Foundational analytical and problem-solving abilities.
