Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise

Provide technical support to customers, including direct farm contact and the commercial animal farming industry. Serve as a technical resource to sales professionals and customers, interpreting field data and providing feedback on housing, transport, equipment, nutrition, and related matters. Document customer requirements and provide technical guidance related to sales strategy and proposals.

  • Value Creation

Identify and develop customer needs through questioning and investigation. Build value for the customer by explaining how company products and services meet their explicit needs. Support the feasibility of standard, customized, and partnership alternatives for offered products and services, focusing on optimization and improvement.

  • Knowledge Sharing

Introduce new solutions and concepts to customers. Manage a program of communication to the animal breeding industry through in-house publications and press articles. Prepare technical presentations and demonstrate how products meet client needs. Contribute to sales meetings by providing a deeper understanding of solution workings or applications, as well as product limitations and non-traditional product usage. Facilitate training for internal sales professionals and on-site technical training for customers.

  • Process Optimization

Develop, monitor, and update written standard operating procedures and process control strategies. Support other organization functions, such as engineering, manufacturing, or quality control, to identify user and/or design problems.

  • Tools and Systems

Coordinate, execute, maintain, and/or improve various administrative sales processes and systems, ensuring an efficient and effective sales administration compliant with policies and regulations. Record the outcome of sales calls and plan future actions to move the sale towards a successful conclusion, including additional investigation where necessary.

  • Management Insights

Provide insights to management on request or own initiative regarding quantitative and qualitative developments within the area of sales/expertise, based on reporting guidelines. Ensure all information is appropriately stored and updated, allowing management and/or relevant stakeholders to make timely decisions and determine or adjust sales decisions and strategy.

  • Internal Collaboration

Responsible for maintaining and building own product and technical knowledge in relevant product categories by taking local & global technical trainings and collaborating with the sales team, product development, and Global Innovation. Based on input from Marketing and Pricing measures, prepare and quote customers to advise them appropriately and conclude the sale of products.

  • Projects and Initiatives

May participate in various sales and customer service-related projects in the area and contribute to project results.
