JOB CONTEXT

The role of Supply Chain Coordination is pivotal within the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) framework. Effective Supply Chain planning is essential for ensuring that production meets both tactical and strategic requirements efficiently and cost-effectively. The Supply Chain Coordinator provides critical insights for the IBP cycle, ensuring that supply operations are aligned with the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.

This position typically involves a tactical planning horizon of 1 to 15 months, while also contributing to a strategic plan that rolls over a 36-month period, organized in monthly increments.

As this function is relatively new to the organization, it presents a unique opportunity for the individual to educate various departments on the significance of Supply Chain Planning and its advantages. The successful candidate must be adept at navigating conflicts and managing organizational change at multiple levels, with support from the Supply Chain Manager and the Global IBP Team.

The complexity and scope of this role will vary based on the number of manufacturing facilities and the intricacy of the product range. The Supply Chain Coordinator will collaborate closely with Production and Material Planners. Depending on the organization's size, these roles may be consolidated into one or two positions, integrating responsibilities across Supply Chain, Production, and Material Planning.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supply Chain Planning Develop a precise Supply Chain Plan for designated product categories over a 1-15 month timeframe, aimed at fulfilling the associated demand in the most efficient manner, taking into account all relevant supply factors (capacity, raw material availability, formulation optimization, etc.). Regularly prepare a strategic Supply Chain Plan (36 months) to identify potential supply limitations. Create scenarios to assess the best options for maintaining supply while considering overall Supply Chain costs and customer service levels. Establish clear deadlines with key contributors to ensure timely information for the Supply Review process. Prepare materials for the monthly Supply Review, including scenarios aimed at minimizing gaps between supply and demand. Highlight any instances where supply exceeds demand for executive discussions. Monitor progress against the plan through regular communication with Production and Material Planning teams, adjusting as necessary based on priorities and commitments. Maintain close communication with other Supply Chain Planners and Customer Services to keep them informed of current situations and actions taken to ensure on-time delivery and available inventory. Follow up on decisions and constraints from the IBP cycle. Inventory & Working Capital Management Establish and implement inventory and replenishment objectives, effectively applying inventory segmentation. Manage inventory levels in accordance with established guidelines, ensuring relevant warehouses are replenished as per targets, and monitor aging, unallocated stock, obsolescence, and waste in collaboration with Demand, Planning Operations, and Logistics. Monitoring & Analysis Maintain Supply Chain planning master data and systems, ensuring relevant data is up-to-date and analyzing trends to enhance forecasting accuracy. Identify sales opportunities and risks, proposing actions to optimize available capacities and raw materials. Coordinate activities related to constraints and allocations, ensuring alignment between Supply Chain and overall supply. Prepare and monitor planning-related KPIs to identify areas for improvement and track performance. Stay informed on the latest planning theories and concepts to enhance effectiveness. Collaborate with Supply and Commercial teams to determine priorities and corrective actions to prevent stockouts and waste, adhering to internal procedures. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement within daily operations and take ownership of implementing solutions. Continuous Improvement & Projects Suggest enhancements to the planning process and lead or participate in various projects aimed at improving end-to-end planning reliability and processes. Collaborate with key customer planning teams to develop integrated and collaborative planning approaches.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

University degree in supply chain, operations, economics, technical engineering, or a related field, with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Experience in forecasting and sales & operations planning, preferably in the animal feed or FMCG industries. Proven ability to work cross-functionally to achieve optimal results. Proficient in ERP tools and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of Infor M3 and DMP is a plus. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build constructive relationships with stakeholders. Understanding of manufacturing challenges and performance improvement opportunities. Strong analytical skills with a focus on detailed analysis. Proactive in identifying risks and opportunities for follow-up. Proficiency in English and potentially additional languages.
