JOB CONTEXT

The role of Supply Chain Planning is crucial within the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) framework, as the effective execution of the Supply Chain plan enables the organization to meet both tactical and strategic production needs in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The Supply Chain Planner provides essential insights for the IBP cycle, ensuring that the supply chain is meticulously organized to meet the demands of both internal and external stakeholders.

This position typically involves a tactical planning horizon ranging from 1 to 15 months, while also contributing to a strategic plan that rolls out over a 36-month period, organized in monthly intervals.

As this function is relatively new to the organization, it presents an exciting opportunity for the incumbent to educate various departments on the significance of Supply Planning and the advantages it offers. The successful candidate will need to navigate conflicts and manage change across different organizational levels, with support from the Supply Chain Manager, Operations Director, and the Global IBP Team.

The complexity and scope of this role will vary based on the number of manufacturing facilities and the intricacy of the product portfolio. The Supply Chain Planner collaborates closely with Production and Material Planners. Depending on the organizational structure, these roles may be combined, integrating responsibilities across Supply Network Planning, Production Planning, and Material Planning.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supply Chain Planning Develop a precise Supply Chain Plan for designated product categories within a 1-15 month timeframe, aimed at effectively meeting the associated demand plan while considering all supply-related factors (capacity, raw material availability, formulation optimization, etc.). Create a strategic Supply Chain Plan on a quarterly or semi-annual basis to identify potential supply constraints over the strategic horizon. Prepare various scenarios to evaluate the best options for maintaining supply while considering total supply chain costs and customer service levels. Establish strict deadlines with key contributors to ensure timely availability of information for the Supply Review. Prepare content for the monthly Supply Review, including scenarios aimed at minimizing gaps between supply and demand. Highlight instances where supply exceeds demand for the Executive IBP meeting. Monitor progress against the plan through regular communication with Production and Material Planning teams, making necessary adjustments based on priorities, constraints, and customer commitments. Maintain close contact with other Supply Chain Planners and Customer Services to keep them informed of the situation and actions taken to ensure on-time, in-full delivery and available inventory. Follow up on decisions and constraints arising from the IBP cycle. Inventory & Working Capital Management Establish and implement inventory and replenishment targets while effectively applying inventory segmentation. Manage inventory levels in accordance with guidelines, ensuring relevant warehouses are replenished in line with targets. Monitor aging and unallocated stock, as well as obsolete and waste materials, coordinating with Demand, Planning Operations, and Logistics across the network. Monitoring Planning (PDCA-cycle) & Analysis Maintain Supply Chain planning master data and systems, ensuring relevant data is up-to-date while analyzing trends to enhance forecasting accuracy. Identify sales opportunities and risks, proposing strategies to push sales based on available capacities and raw materials. Coordinate activities related to constraints and allocation processes, ensuring alignment between Supply Chain and supply. Prepare and monitor planning-related KPIs to identify areas for improvement and assess performance. Stay informed about the latest planning theories and concepts to enhance effectiveness. Collaborate with Supply and Commercial teams to determine priorities and implement corrective actions to prevent out-of-stock situations and waste, in accordance with internal procedures. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement within daily operations and take ownership of implementing solutions. Continuous Improvement & Projects Propose enhancements to the production planning process and implement them effectively. Lead or participate in various projects aimed at improving end-to-end planning reliability and processes. Collaborate with key customer planning teams to develop integrated and collaborative planning approaches.

Delivery On Time In Full (OTIF) Forecast Accuracy RMR/RMN Finished Goods Stock-outs Capacity Utilization of the Network Product Portfolio, Number of Articles and Formulations IBP Maturity Level Inventory Levels (Days/Value) / Working Capital (Inventory Volume Targets) Raw Material Stock-outs Waste Costs (e.g., Raw Material Losses, Obsoletes) Plan and Schedule Conformance & Performance Planned Stops Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A university degree in supply chain, operations, economics, technical engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Experience in forecasting and sales & operations planning within the animal feed industry or similar sectors such as FMCG. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with various departments to achieve optimal results. Strong knowledge and expertise in ERP tools, particularly in terms of functionality and usage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is essential; familiarity with Infor M3 and DMP is a plus. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade and maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders. A solid understanding of manufacturing challenges and the ability to leverage manufacturing performance. Strong numerical aptitude with a passion for detailed analysis. An inquisitive mindset, capable of identifying risks and opportunities for follow-up. Proficiency in English, with knowledge of an additional language being advantageous.
