Role Overview

We're seeking an exceptional Scientific Research Leader to join our team at GlaxoSmithKline. As a key member of our scientific community, you'll be responsible for driving the development of innovative solutions in vaccine research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scientific research experiments utilizing Proteomics and/or Structural Mass Spectrometry to support vaccine development.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of project-specific research and publication plans.
  • Advise the Lab Head on new technologies related to Proteomics and/or Structural Mass Spectrometry and research and publication strategies.
  • Ensure timely data collection, analysis, and reporting, including preparation of internal and external scientific documents.
  • Provide support to the Intellectual Property team for patent filing and to the regulatory team for the preparation of the preclinical section of regulatory documents.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, good scientific practices, and data integrity in daily scientific activities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of key research activities and basic regulations.
  • Communicate issues proactively and effectively negotiate potential solutions with the preclinical team and technical project team.
  • Follow established Health, Safety, and Environment policies, actively participate in training, hazard identification, and other HS&E programs, and stop operations if they are unsafe or out of compliance, reporting immediately to management.

Requirements
  • PhD in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or Physics with at least one first-author peer-reviewed publication.
  • Postdoctoral experience in Proteomics and/or Structural Mass Spectrometry.
  • Understanding of function operating procedures and/or internal policies required to maintain quality standards and protect GSK intellectual property.
  • Fluent in English, oral and written.
  • Good communication skills and ability to present scientific data in front of a large audience.
  • Good project scientific/technical strategy skills.
