We are seeking a talented Traction Powertrain System Engineer to join our team at Alstom, a global leader in the rail industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative train traction and powertrain systems using fuel cells, energy storage, and hybrid technologies. This includes designing and developing electrical train traction systems, including switchgear, inductors, transformers, power converter modules, motors, and static converters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define train architectures based on fuel cell, energy storage, and hybrid systems to satisfy traction performance requirements.
  • Develop battery solutions for fuel cell and hybrid power traction systems.
  • Design and size battery and fuel cells to meet train power performance requirements.
  • Define thermal and electrical performance of fuel cell and energy storage systems and manage train integration.
  • Develop train test and validation strategies with the validation team.
  • Manage customer, internal, and transversal requirements, allocating them to technical solutions.
  • Manage technical meetings with customers and suppliers.
  • Manage the return of experience from projects.
  • Supervise commissioning and validation activities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Energy or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years' experience in product development. Fluency in English is required, and the ability to work in a team and share work results is essential.
