Position Overview

The role of the Incident Response Assistant (part-time, 10-12 month contract) involves being a key resource for students during emergencies. Reporting directly to the Residence and Student Life Manager, the assistant collaborates with campus health professionals and the Facilities Office to provide immediate responses to incidents. Responsibilities include documenting incidents through proper channels, maintaining an on-call log after each shift, drafting detailed incident reports, attending weekly meetings with Office of Student Life staff, and assisting with student check-in, orientation, and check-out processes. During office hours, the assistant engages in various administrative tasks within the Office of Student Life, offering guidance and support to students, colleagues, visitors, and partners. It is crucial for the assistant to ensure fair and inclusive treatment of all students and stakeholders.
Candidates must demonstrate their eligibility to work legally in Italy.
Required Qualifications
Education
A bachelor's degree or progress toward obtaining one.
Skills and Competencies
Effective and timely communication in English; strong writing skills in English that are clear and objective; ability to perform under pressure; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Candidates must also provide proof of their legal work eligibility in Italy.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
A bachelor's degree in Italian, Psychology, Medicine, Social Work, or related disciplines.
Certifications and Additional Qualifications
Proficiency in both English and Italian.
Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in an educational institution.
Additional Skills and Competencies
A readiness to respond in person to student emergencies when on call; a customer service orientation with a focus on life education; empathy towards others; ability to produce clear, objective, and actionable written reports; a collaborative mindset; a positive demeanor; and respect for diverse viewpoints.
