Child and Youth Program Leader

Us Commander, Navy Installations is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Youth Program Leader to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing direct care and instruction to children and youth, as well as guidance, assistance, and mentoring for program assistants.
Key Responsibilities- Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance and support to program assistants, including instruction and training on child development principles and practices.
- Program Planning and Implementation: Plan and implement activities for program participants, ensuring that they meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of children and youth.
- Supervision and Safety: Provide care and supervision for program participants, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Communication and Collaboration: Interact professionally with employees, parents, and local installation command personnel, participating in conferences and briefings as needed.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Observe and document the developmental progression of children and youth, using this information to inform program planning and implementation.
- Compliance and Accreditation: Ensure that the program meets all relevant standards for DoD certification and national accreditation.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: One year of experience at the CY-02 (GSE-04) level or equivalent, with knowledge of and competency in developmentally appropriate programming for children and youth.
- Certifications and Credentials: Completion of DOD Standardized Module Training and 12 months of regular full-time experience at the CY-II (GSE-03) level, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Military School-Age (MSA) credential.
This position requires the ability to sustain considerable walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The incumbent must also be able to complete required training certificates and maintain certifications or credentials required by Federal, State, and/or national accreditation institutions used as part of DoD's Child and Youth Programs.
