Job Description

\

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineering Lead - Distributed Systems to join our Advanced Analytics Group (AAG). As a member of this talented team, you will be responsible for designing and building cloud-based distributed systems that solve complex business challenges for some of the world's largest companies.

\

You will draw on your deep software engineering, cloud engineering, and DevOps expertise to design and build technology stacks and platform components that enable cross-functional AI Engineering teams to create robust, observable, and scalable solutions.

\

Your responsibilities will include:

  • \
  • Leading cloud solution and distributed systems architecture for full-stack AI software and data solutions\
  • Collaborating closely with general consulting teams to identify analytic solutions to client business problems, and to appropriately scope, prioritize, and execute those solutions\
  • Defining and implementing scalable, observable, manageable, and self-healing cloud-based solutions across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure\
  • Leading key parts of implementation, testing, and management of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) of cloud-based solutions that may include CI/CD, data integrations, APIs, web and mobile apps, and AI solutions\
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to the establishment and enforcement of coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable code\
  • Leading implementation of robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and organizational policies\
  • Collaborating on (or leading) the development and maintenance of APIs and microservices to expose analytics functionality to internal and external consumers, adhering to best practices for API design and documentation\
  • Working with the team and other senior leaders to create a great working environment that attracts other great engineers\
  • Caching engineering teams at our clients and partners to raise their capabilities and ensure that our work is successfully deployed to the highest standards\
  • Driving best demonstrated practices in platform engineering, and sharing learnings with team members in AAG about theoretical and technical developments in platform engineering\
  • Driving industry-leading innovations that translate into great impact for our clients in case work\
  • Acting as PD Advisor as needed\
  • Participating in recruiting and onboarding for other team members\
  • Travel is required (30%)\\
  • Estimated Salary: $250,000 - $350,000 per year\
  • This salary range is based on national averages and can vary depending on location, experience, and qualifications.\

About You

\

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. You should have at least 7 years of experience, including 4 years at Lead or Staff level, or equivalent.

\

A proven track record of designing and delivering cloud-based distributed solutions GCP, AWS, or Azure, as well as experience building infrastructure as code with tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, Pulumi, AWS CDK, CDKTF, etc., is essential.

\

Additionally, you should have commercial acumen and understanding of business models, as well as a deep familiarity with nuances of software development lifecycle.
