Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at the KION Group. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for purchasing components for our location in Luzzara, Italy. You will work closely with our European purchasing team to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of components.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct market analyses and request quotations from suppliers in line with technical specifications.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on delivery, quality, and price.
  • Track supplier deliveries and initiate actions in case of deviations.
  • Manage and develop the supply base to achieve targets in delivery, quality, cost, and innovation.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Procurement Strategy.
  • Support regional and global Procurement initiatives.
  • Support awarding processes and collaborate with Global Sourcing.
  • Partner with suppliers in industrialization processes.
  • Process and track technical changes for Purchasing aspects.
  • Drive Make-or-Buy processes and outsourcing activities.
  • Manage and mitigate site-related supply risk.
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and Quality, Logistic, and R&D teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business.
  • Experience as a Buyer in Material Handling, Construction, Agriculture, Automotive Tier 1, or similar industries.
  • Strategic thinking and understanding of manufacturing processes and industry quality standards.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and SAP/R3 ERP.
  • Results-driven and able to drive projects independently.
  • Team-oriented in a global purchasing team.
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to travel within Europe.
  • Good English is mandatory, and a second language is an advantage.
