About the Role

Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team in Agrate Brianza, Italy. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our equipment and providing exceptional support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage equipment performance and supply of spare parts, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Implement and guarantee all levels of preventative and corrective maintenance within established timelines, adhering to company procedures and practices.
  • Support troubleshooting activities and fix technical issues on equipment, utilizing software and process data as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues, performing upgrades and retrofits on equipment as required.
  • Ensure that the team applies correct procedures and checklists for maintenance, both corrective and preventive.
  • Understand and implement correct work methodologies and procedures as per company and customer quality standards.
  • Anticipate and respond to equipment issues and escalations in a timely manner, collaborating with company stakeholders.
  • Participate in internal and customer meetings, providing technical content and expertise.
  • Assist management in operation of site service business, establishing and achieving objectives for assigned accounts.
  • Keep field management informed on customer perception of system performance, taking initiative to avoid and resolve customer problems.
Requirements
  • Technical Diploma or University Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, with expertise in industrial machinery and semiconductor equipment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to interact with colleagues and customers in a professional manner.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook, with additional software skills a plus.
  • Ability to work in a global organization, with flexibility to travel up to 10% of the time.
