About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Hoxton in Florence. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the running of the different sections of the kitchen and ensuring that our high standards of food quality and service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the running of the different sections of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Nurture and develop the talent of the kitchen team, creating an environment that brings out the best in them and where they can be themselves.
  • Ensure that orders and deliveries are managed efficiently, and our service is smooth and seamless.
  • Work with our Head Chef to develop new menu ideas and techniques that make our kitchen a creative and ever-changing environment.
  • In the absence of the Head Chef, you will act in their place to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a busy, bustling environment with a focus on freshness and provenance of ingredients.
  • Passion for food and a proven track record of managing large kitchen teams.
  • Ability to take ownership of important issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
  • Natural leadership skills, with the ability to lead by example and create an environment where your team can thrive.
