We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity for an individual to join our Operations Engineering team in Paris as a Consultant Engineer, stationed in the Milan office, reporting directly to the Group Manager Field Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with clients to comprehend their operations and assist them in mitigating fire and equipment-related risks.
  • Conduct thorough on-site evaluations to identify all potential hazards at client locations, ensuring comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Accurately assess exposures at client sites to ensure the Account Team focuses appropriately on risks and their implications for the business.
  • Implement necessary measures to ensure the operational effectiveness of protective systems at client locations, maximizing loss mitigation opportunities.
  • Engage with local clients to gain understanding and consensus on identified hazards and their potential impact on business operations.
  • Drive practical and effective on-site risk enhancements, including human element maintenance programs and cost-effective physical improvements, while developing plans for significant capital improvements in collaboration with Account Engineering.
  • Demonstrate the unique value of FM Global's engineering capabilities and work with Account Engineering to educate clients on effective loss prevention strategies.
  • Identify forthcoming changes that may introduce new risks, providing timely and high-quality review services for medium complexity changes to ensure proper loss prevention considerations are integrated at the design phase.

Qualifications

  • A degree in chemical or electrical engineering, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in production, maintenance, or process hazards consulting within high-challenge industries such as chemical, power generation, or pulp & paper.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach with a strong desire to drive risk improvements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational capabilities, and strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in both Italian and English, with written and verbal fluency; knowledge of French and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within an assigned geographical area and throughout the operational territory.
