The Assistant Manager of Housekeeping plays a vital role in supporting the Senior Director of Housekeeping in planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing all housekeeping operations in accordance with company standards and protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Director of Housekeeping in recruiting, training, evaluating, leading, motivating, coaching, and managing all housekeeping personnel to ensure adherence to established cultural and core standards; oversee daily activities and planning for departmental operations.
- Supervise the cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, following the procedures established by Four Seasons Hotels: manage the daily work schedule executed by the supervisory team, digitally compile room and floor status reports for designated work areas, and monitor staff progress daily. Coordinate work orders within assigned sections and ensure completion before releasing rooms for sale.
- Address guest complaints, managing all interactions with the utmost hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever feasible.
- Ensure that floors and storage areas are fully stocked according to inventory needs and initiate necessary purchase requisitions.
- Collaborate with outsourced staff, external contractors, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist with various responsibilities and duties during peak times in public areas, back-of-house, and laundry.
- Support any additional tasks within the division and/or any tasks assigned by the Senior Director of Housekeeping.
- Participate in regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and collaboration between departments.
- Maintain open communication with the Senior Director of Housekeeping and hold regular meetings.
- In the absence of the Senior Director of Housekeeping, assume responsibility for the seamless operation of the Housekeeping Department and all related areas.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in Housekeeping with a supervisory or managerial role.
- High attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
- Strong leadership abilities, capable of providing constructive feedback to both staff and management with strong follow-through.
- Ability to lead a diverse team is essential, along with a passion for service.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking both Italian and English.
