We are currently seeking a Railway Signalling Engineer to enhance our operations.

Role Overview

The Services Signalling Engineer will play a pivotal role in the Signalling Service Engineering initiatives, focusing on the development of digital solutions and services (Control Room) as well as ISR (Integrated Service Readiness) activities. These responsibilities are essential for ensuring the effective maintenance of signalling systems.

Key Responsibilities

In relation to the development of Digital Services, the engineer will:

  • Actively contribute to the enhancement of the Control Room, ensuring its optimal operation and identifying potential improvements.
  • Define software development requirements for the Control Room using agile methodologies.
  • Propose enhancements to internal technical support processes through the introduction of new digital services.
  • Develop proposals for customers regarding digital services linked to signalling maintenance.
  • Assist in the maintenance and configuration of the Control Room and associated digital services.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for the operation and upkeep of the Control Room and digital services.
  • Collaborate with the Services Signalling Engineering Manager to outline the roadmap for Control Room and Digital Services development.

Regarding ISR activities, the engineer will:

  • Review and enhance maintenance manuals provided by D&IS.
  • Establish maintenance plans based on these manuals.
  • Contribute to the lifecycle cost analysis related to signalling system maintenance.
  • Help define management strategies for obsolescence.
  • Propose potential roadmaps for updating signalling systems in terms of Baseline.
  • Develop training plans for both internal staff and customer personnel.
  • Assist in defining the RAM data collection process.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Driving continuous improvement through the adoption of digital processes and services.
  • Participating in tenders by analyzing technical requirements and drafting relevant documentation.
  • Engaging in D&IS DFQ cycles to establish maintainability requirements for signalling systems.
  • Suggesting improvements for tools and diagnostic instruments developed by D&IS.
  • Contributing to the management of obsolescence within the Service structure.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronic, IT, Telecommunications); a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • A detail-oriented and pragmatic approach.
  • A strong focus on results and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with SAP, RAM, digital services, and web applications.
  • Knowledge of databases.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and office software.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on digital advancements.

Knowledge in the following areas will be advantageous:

  • Cloud computing.
  • Data mining, big data, and machine learning.
  • Cybersecurity.
  • Obsolescence management.
  • Understanding of the railway industry.
  • Familiarity with signalling systems.
  • Experience in maintaining complex systems.

Fluency in English is required.
