Job Overview

Element Solutions Inc is seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team in Europe. As a key member of our Automation and Electrical function, you will be responsible for designing and developing PLC and controls functions for new and retrofitted industrial wastewater treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop PLC-based control systems for wastewater treatment systems
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure design intent is achieved
  • Establish PLC programs, memory maps, and programming notes
  • Develop HMI programming skills in TIA portal and other languages
  • Manage project schedules and report progress to the Controls Manager
  • Interface with customers and service technicians to resolve issues
  • Travel to customer sites for design reviews, research, installation, and troubleshooting
Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of an associate's degree in electrical engineering or automation and have five years of related experience in the wastewater treatment industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical background
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and English language
Education and Certifications

Associate's Degree in Engineering or Industrial Engineering
