Position: Software Development Leader
- Responsible for the design, development, and testing of embedded applications for railway equipment and electronic devices, particularly in train communication and diagnostic systems.
- Manages software development resources and activities for assigned projects.
- Ensures delivery of each software baseline in accordance with quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Accountabilities:
- Delivering train software as per the Engineering Work Package.
- Implementing and adhering to Train Control & Information Solutions development procedures, processes, and design rules for the project.
- Managing and ensuring traceability of hardware and software configurations, including design tools, and producing release notes.
- Verifying that the content of baselines, release or delivery notes, and Software Reference version identifications comply with release standards.
- Maintaining and controlling key performance indicators (KPIs) for the project and reporting to the Software Domain Leader.
- Accountable for software validation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing embedded software modules for TCMS equipment, ensuring compliance with software requirements, design specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
- Monitoring, controlling, and consolidating the software development work package, managing project timelines, and reporting any delays or issues to the work package owner or supervisor.
- Defining functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications.
- Integrating software modules within TCMS subsystems (such as diagnostic systems and train-to-wayside communication systems) and overseeing configuration management for software activities.
- Ensuring optimal performance of executable code deployed on the target for the project being led.
- Initiating and following up on action plans to address issues and improve project outcomes.
- Sharing lessons learned from activities with the Domain Leader and proposing enhancements to the Software Development processes and tools established by the Domain Leader.
- Contributing to the development of the Quality Plan.
- Managing subcontractors effectively.
- Participating in Change Control Board meetings.
Educational Qualifications:
- A Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in electronic or software engineering is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on development experience in software phases such as requirement gathering, software development, and hardware-software integration, preferably in the Railway or Automotive sectors.
- Extensive experience in embedded software design and implementation for complex diagnostic data management systems using C/C++.
- Proficient knowledge of Linux-based operating systems.
- Familiarity with network protocols including MVB, Ethernet, CAN, RS 232, and RS 485.
- Experience in managing work packages for subcontractors.
- Highly proficient in both spoken and written English.
