About the Role

Telespazio Belgium is seeking a highly skilled System Security Engineer to join their team at ESRIN, the European Space Agency's offices in Italy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Security Risk Assessments
    1. Identify vulnerabilities and threats to ESA's information systems.
    2. Assess the potential impact of security threats on ESA's systems.
  2. Security Requirements
    1. Establish and define security requirements for information systems.
    2. Assess the compliance of systems and processes with defined security requirements.
  3. Security Threat Analysis and Risk Treatment
    1. Perform in-depth security threat analysis to identify potential risks.
    2. Develop and implement security risk treatment plans to mitigate identified risks.
  4. Technical Documentation Assessment
    1. Review and assess technical documentation to ensure compliance with security requirements.
    2. Provide feedback and recommendations to improve security measures documented in technical documentation.
  5. Certification and Accreditation Support
    1. Assist in the certification and accreditation process for various projects.
    2. Support the development and submission of documentation required for certification and accreditation.
  6. Security Documentation Preparation
    1. Prepare and maintain security-related project documentation.
    2. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and reflects the current security posture of the organization.
  7. Support for Security Governance
    1. Support client's security bodies and officers.
    2. Support security governance activities and relevant tools.
Requirements
  1. University Degree (Bach. or above) in Computer Sciences, IT, Information Security, Electronic/Communication/Aerospace Engineering or relevant technical domain.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in information security or a related field.
  3. Experience performing security risk assessments, developing risk treatment plans, and defining security requirements.
  4. Ability to evaluate and assess technical documentation.
  5. Effective communication and documentation skills.
  6. Analytical, problem-solving and customer-focused mindset.
  7. Eligible to undergo a national Secret security clearance procedure.
  8. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  9. Experience working in an international and multi-cultural team and environment.
  10. Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, EBIOS, NIST, GDPR.
  11. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or equivalent.
