Electrification Project Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrification Project Manager to lead the engineering efforts of major projects in electrification at Dana. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering solutions and controlling all engineering and prototyping aspects of the project, including schedule, quality, and costs.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Project Leadership: Owns the engineering project timeline and implementation of necessary measures in case of deviations, creating a work breakdown structure (WBS) for technical activities in alignment with overall program milestones, including customer deliverables.
  2. Customer Alignment: Coordinates with customer's engineering functions to ensure alignment on milestones and features.
  3. Technical Competency: Defines, together with the Chief Engineer and engineering management, the required technical competencies needed for the successful execution of the program.
  4. Team Management: Ensures the engineering project team is properly staffed in alignment with discipline managers and design reviews are completed on time per project needs and continuously assesses project in terms of resource planning, resource management, and execution.
  5. Cost Management: Responsible for the Engineering Design & Testing cost creation, estimating engineering effort, tracking actuals, and recoveries from customers (working with sales).
  6. Quality Management: Ensures product development process conformance with automotive standard requirements, such as ASPICE, and overall project quality managing all engineering release gates per Dana Product Development process (Design Review) and in support of Program Management' Stage Gate process.
  7. Communication: Represents the engineering team in internal/customer meetings in support of the Chief Engineer, presenting project milestones, issues, change requests, risks, etc.
  8. Problem-Solving: Accountable for problems/issues, change, and risk management (project and technical) including escalation per pre-defined strategy.
  9. Reporting: Establishes and reports engineering KPIs to engineering management, including budget (ED&T) and PPM planning status.
  10. Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicates and escalates with internal and external stakeholders to maintain awareness of project scope, milestones, risks, and issues.
  11. Support Functions: Supports RFQ/RFI and execution, department financial planning, etc.
Requirements

Education: University Bachelor Degree - Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering

Professional Background:

  • Experience in the automotive industry in a development environment, preferably at Tier1 or OEM e-propulsion department
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in powertrain or e-powertrain systems
  • Knowledge of electrified powertrains, including the ability to think at the electrified powertrain system level.

We are looking for candidates that next to skills at this system level have specific skills in any of the following domains:

  • Electronic hardware (ECU and power electronics)
  • Mechanical hardware (motor, hydraulics, gearbox)
  • Controls & software
  • Electromagnetic, NVH or thermal analysis
Essential Skills

Relevant Experience: Relevant experience in requirements management tools e.g., Design, CAE, ASPICE, CMMI, Agile, PDP, Polarion, etc.

Automotive Functional Safety: Experience in automotive functional safety according to ISO26262 and Aspice

Language: Fluent in English.
