Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Oversee the initiation and renewal processes with Customs Authorities.
  • Administer and uphold AEO certification while coordinating audits and evaluations from the Customs Agency.
  • Supervise and ensure the effective execution of import and export activities for finished products.
  • Monitor and regulate operations conducted by personnel in bonded storage facilities.
  • Administer Special Rules and bank guarantees in partnership with the Treasury department.
  • Oversee the 'Classification of Goods' and manage requests for Certificates of Origin.
  • Ensure compliance with inspections performed by customs officials at production sites and corporate headquarters.
  • Conduct training sessions for colleagues at headquarters and production facilities regarding current regulations.
  • Maintain relationships with external entities such as Customs, governmental ministries, and industry associations.
  • Lead and support Customs Specialists in their professional development and training needs.

Key Relationships:

  • Internal: Group Tax Director, Group Tax & Transfer Pricing Coordinator, Tax Manager, Plant Director, Plant Excise & Customs Coordinator, Excise Specialist, Logistics Manager.
  • External: Customs offices.

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in consumer goods sectors, particularly within the spirits industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams with functional reporting structures.

Education / Professional Qualifications:

  • Expertise in customs management and comprehensive knowledge of customs legislation.
  • Understanding of business processes and risks associated with the handling of finished goods and raw materials subject to customs regulations.
