Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Oversee the initiation and renewal processes with Customs Authorities.
  • Administer and uphold AEO authorization while managing related audits and evaluations from the Customs Agency.
  • Supervise and ensure the effective execution of import and export activities for finished products.
  • Monitor and regulate operations conducted by personnel in bonded warehouses.
  • Administer Special Rules and bank guarantees in collaboration with the Treasury department.
  • Manage the classification of goods and handle requests for Certificates of Origin.
  • Ensure compliance with inspections conducted by customs officials at production facilities and headquarters.
  • Facilitate training sessions for colleagues at headquarters and plants regarding current regulations.
  • Maintain communication with external entities such as Customs, Ministries, and Associations.
  • Lead and support Customs Specialists in their training and professional development.

Key Relationships:

  • Internal: Group Tax Director, Group Tax & Transfer Pricing Coordinator, Tax Manager, Plant Director, Plant Excise & Customs Coordinator, Excise Specialist, Logistics Manager.
  • External: Customs offices.

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in consumer goods sectors is essential, ideally within the spirits industry.
  • Experience in leading teams with functional reporting structures.

Education / Professional Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Proficient in customs management and knowledgeable about customs legislation.
  • Understanding of business processes and risks associated with the handling of finished goods and raw materials subject to customs regulations.
