Role Overview

The Accounting & Transformation Manager plays a pivotal role within the Finance Operations division. This position is accountable for overseeing Purchase to Pay, Tax, and Telecommunications Accounting, ensuring accurate General Ledger entries, and maintaining a robust month-end and year-end closing process that adheres to both local and international accounting standards. The individual in this role will spearhead a comprehensive transformation initiative aimed at modernizing Vodafone Italia's accounting practices while enhancing collaboration with Vodafone Shared Services on behalf of the Italian market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Performance Management: Convert business needs into measurable objectives for Purchase to Pay, Tax, and Telecommunications accounting in the Italian market. Establish performance indicators and comprehensive dashboards to monitor progress and foster exceptional collaboration between service delivery and local business units.
  • Transformation and Change Management: Develop, implement, and oversee strategic initiatives focused on enhancing the quality of local market operations. Support projects aimed at reviewing and integrating processes, systems, and operational models.
  • Vodafone Shared Services Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for local market responsibilities related to VOIS, ensuring effective communication and coordination with service teams and leadership.
  • Collaboration with FP&A: Work closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to assist in budget and forecasting activities.
  • Audit Liaison: Engage with external auditors and internal audit teams, including responsibilities related to SOX compliance.

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and fiscal regulations.
  • Experience in transformational programs, including outsourcing, finance process integration, and accounting systems implementation.
  • A bachelor’s degree or relevant coursework in business administration, accounting, or finance is preferred.
  • Fluency in Italian and English is required.

Performance Metrics

  • Successful delivery of transformation, automation, and operational excellence initiatives within budget and timelines.
  • Achievement of timely and accurate month-end and year-end closures, meeting established KPIs for Purchase to Pay, Tax, and Telecommunications accounting.
  • High engagement levels among direct reports.
