YOUR FUTURE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive, inquisitive, and resourceful manager to oversee operations at our headquarters.

As the Automation Manager for our facility, your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of engineers and manage all projects related to:

  • Automated machinery sourced from external suppliers (Buy)
  • Automated systems and prototypes developed in-house (Make)

Your focus will be on achieving project objectives, monitoring expenses, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards, and guaranteeing the achievement of KPIs established in collaboration with the Production Team and Plant Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the Plant Business Plan for new automated systems (installation phase) or modifications to existing machinery to enhance plant profitability.
  • Ensure project timelines are met by analyzing and monitoring the status of KPIs to achieve required technical performance.
  • Evaluate the performance of installed machinery with an emphasis on efficiency improvements and propose innovative solutions for production automation.
  • Coordinate team activities and prioritize tasks in alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Lead project teams involving external suppliers and Luxottica plants from various regions to anticipate needs and establish benchmarks.
  • Identify and cultivate new automation and equipment suppliers in line with purchasing policies and strategies.
  • Oversee supplier proposal requests, assess technical feasibility, evaluate economic aspects, and manage the supplier sourcing process.
  • Identify and communicate risks associated with project implementation decisions.
  • Conduct quality checks on products to ensure compliance with quality standards.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Solution-oriented mindset with a focus on overcoming challenges.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Extensive experience as a Project Manager in Industrial Automation and Robotics, proficient in project management tools (e.g., Gantt, OIL).
  • Passionate about technological advancements that facilitate automation processes and outcomes, with technical expertise in developing and monitoring automated systems.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, capable of presenting information at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to analyze and manage KPIs for monitoring the performance of automated systems.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of relevant experience, including managerial responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Skilled in multitasking and managing various projects simultaneously.
  • Strong orientation towards digitalization and information technologies.
  • Fluency in both Italian and English.
  • Willingness to relocate internationally if required.
