About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled HR Generalist to join our People Team at Deliveroo, based in Milan. As an HR Generalist, you will play a critical role in supporting the local People Team and contributing to the overall success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, development, and coaching.
- Prepare employment offer letters, contracts, and other HR-related documents in compliance with Italian labor laws and regulations.
- Oversee the accurate management of employee data in Workday, including hirings, leavings, contract changes, and compensation updates.
- Monitor and manage overtime and absence records, ensuring compliance with national labor contracts.
- Collaborate with the payroll team, central people operations team, and other CoEs to ensure seamless HR operations.
- Provide support to employees through ServiceNow, addressing queries and concerns related to administration and payroll.
- Process reports on employee headcount and administration, ensuring accurate data and compliance with company policies.
- Support the development of the operating model for Hop People Operations in Italy, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Partner with site management to identify capability gaps and implement solutions, as well as proactively identify engagement gaps and implement solutions to address.
- Proactively partner with site management on workforce planning, ensuring recruitment teams are aware of demand and all sites are staffed appropriately.
- Partner with external providers of HR services, as needed, to support HR operations.
- Oversee performance review, promotion, and compensation review processes, ensuring consistency across site-based teams.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
- Partner with the HQ People team to ensure site employee views are represented and central Deliveroo-wide processes are fit for purpose for site-based teams.
- Provide operational support on L&D, recruitment, procurement, and local people initiatives.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in People administration and Operations areas.
- Knowledge of Italian labor law and CCNL Commercio.
- Knowledge of Workday HRIS and ServiceNow is a significant plus.
- Precise, punctual, flexible, and adaptable professional with a strong team player attitude.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with the central People team based in London.
- Significant experience in start-ups, retail/distribution, or manufacturing environments.
- Initiative-taker, confident, and able to manage energy effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Friendly and approachable communication style.
- Confident to operate in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and handle multiple priorities.
