Technical Solutions Engineer – Territory

We are seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to collaborate closely with a sales representative within a designated territory. The primary responsibility of the Technical Solutions Engineer will be to assist the sales organization in all technical aspects related to pre-sales, sales engagements, and post-sales support.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all technical components of the sales process with the client, from initial Requests for Information (RFIs) to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) as necessary. This includes project management and active involvement in Proof of Concepts (POCs) in conjunction with relevant internal teams and customer or commercial partners. Possess the ability to listen and comprehend the technical needs of the client, interpreting underlying requirements to devise a solution that surpasses competitor offerings. Act as the primary technical liaison for clients and partners, working in close partnership with your sales counterpart. Consistently seek to enhance knowledge regarding Fortinet products and solutions, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape and Fortinet's capacity to deliver enduring protection against evolving threats. Exhibit a strong capability to present Fortinet solutions to clients, whether remotely or in person. This necessitates excellent communication skills and the confidence to present through whiteboarding, technical documentation, strategic plans, or client discussions. Effectively manage your time while handling multiple deals concurrently, ensuring a positive experience for the client. Keep precise records of activities, contacts, and technical information for all clients and prospects within our CRM system.

Qualifications

Demonstrate a strong aptitude for security technologies, particularly in encryption and authentication, with additional knowledge in network security, intrusion detection, anti-virus solutions, routing, switching, LAN, and WAN being advantageous. CISSP certification is a plus. Have experience in a pre-sales engineering role, managing the complete technical aspects of deals through to technical closure. Showcase problem-solving skills and illustrate how these have contributed to significant successes within your current organization. Exhibit the ability to build and sustain client relationships, including effectively communicating technical information to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Possess a solid understanding of RADIUS, PKI, IKE, Certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, FIREWALL, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, and 3DES.
