Arup Italia is currently in search of a Sustainability Trainee who is eager to engage in environmental and wellbeing certifications.
Key Responsibilities
· Collaborate on the development of sustainable energy solutions through interdisciplinary teamwork with various Arup departments (e.g., MEP, architecture, façade, urban planning, etc.).
· Assist in the LEED/WELL design process.
· Participate in site visits for LEED/WELL certified buildings.
· Contribute during competitions and early design phases.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Knowledge
Currently enrolled in the final year (or beyond) of a master's program in engineering, architecture, or related fields.Fundamental understanding of building physics and key elements of active/passive strategies for buildings and masterplans.Knowledge of low carbon strategies for buildings and masterplans (both embodied and operational).Awareness of circularity principles.Familiarity with environmental and wellbeing certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL, BREEAM).Proficient in English and Italian.Competent in basic Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and design software (AutoCAD/Rhinoceros).Analytical skills with a systems thinking approach.Able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.Preferred Skills and Knowledge
Prior experience with environmental and wellbeing certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL, BREEAM).Experience with HVAC systems and MEP engineering.Familiarity with embodied carbon tools (e.g., OneClick).Proficient in Revit (e.g., Rooms/Spaces, colorplan, parameters modification, data extraction).Digital proficiency including data extraction and software interoperability.Knowledge of a second foreign language.International study or work experience (e.g., Erasmus program, thesis/internship abroad, etc.).Compensation and Benefits
