Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, with a foundational understanding of computer hardware and components, alongside substantial experience in supporting IT equipment or related technologies.
- Significant experience in directing, supervising, or managing personnel is essential for senior candidates.
Background Check Requirements:
Candidates must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position requires passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
While not mandatory, we also value the following Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field and/or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive experience in supporting IT equipment or related technologies.
- Significant experience in a production, mission-critical 24x7x365 data center environment.
- Relevant certifications: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation, ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC), Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Proven experience in leading a diverse technical or IT workforce of up to ten employees.
Responsibilities
- Drive success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and fostering a positive and effective team culture.
- Ensure overall compliance and quality of data center services.
- Provide guidance and hold the team accountable for adherence to Data Center Services (DCS) business unit policies, procedures, deadlines, and service-change protocols.
- Ensure technicians are trained on installation, deployment, replacement, and post-execution quality check processes.
- Verify that post-execution quality checks are performed correctly by technicians and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Escalate issues through the appropriate channels and follow up on resolutions, sharing knowledge related to issue resolution with relevant teams.
- Review process changes to assess their impact on service execution and communicate pertinent information to stakeholders across functions and disciplines.
- Lead team and triage meetings, prioritizing work and adjusting priorities in response to changes.
- Complete required safety training, conduct daily safety briefings, and participate in on-site safety committees.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures by technicians and vendor resources (e.g., Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage, equipment handling, lifting, electrical hazards, ladder/rolling stair use).
- Promote a culture of safety and empower technicians to take action, voice concerns, and report safety issues or incidents.
- Take pride in and assume accountability for service quality, completeness, and the resulting customer experience, demonstrating ownership of the data center facilities.
