Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of mechanical systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of mechanical engineering requirements for each project
  • Study and become familiar with elementary system drawings, conveyor manifests, and engineering hours estimates
  • Provide technical interface with customer project representatives and ensure compliance with project contract documents
  • Develop and maintain a mechanical engineering schedule to support installation schedules
  • Execute projects within budget and hours in the contract estimate
  • Provide technical support for vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors
  • Support weekly meetings with project team members and customers
  • Delegate and monitor tasks given to engineering team members
  • Maintain project-specific requirements while applying general knowledge of conveying systems and customer specifications
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with customer specifications
  • Communicate project-specific information with other departments
  • Release drawings for installation and fabrication
  • Create material purchase requests
  • Relate information regarding changes to scope of work for the project
  • Communicate status updates to engineering management
  • Be cognizant of areas for professional development, cost reduction, quality improvements, and enhanced customer service
  • Check drawings provided by mechanical designers for accuracy and provide feedback for corrections
  • Perform or assist in directing engineering analysis as determined by project needs

Requirements

  • Three to five years of material handling equipment experience, preferably within the conveyor systems industry
  • Experience with executing and supporting medium to large projects
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering and design
  • Ability to work in a schedule-driven environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Inventor is a plus

Travel Requirements

Some international travel may be required, approximately 15% of the time, depending on project needs and urgency.
