About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Land EO Data Exploitation Specialist to join our team at Serco. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for contributing your expertise to our project, ensuring its seamless operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Literature Survey: Conduct a thorough review of the latest EO methodologies for science and application developments.
  • Support Project Teams: Collaborate with ESA Technical Officers in the different phases of data exploitation projects.
  • Generate Technical Notes: Produce scientific and technical notes as needed during project phases.
  • Participate in Project Meetings: Engage in project meetings and reviews to ensure project progress.
  • Review Technical Deliverables: Support the review of technical deliverables from projects.
  • Software Algorithm Development: Follow related software algorithms development, test them, and report on development.
  • Feasibility Studies: Propose and perform feasibility studies for new development and new areas for applications.
  • Scientific Workshops: Provide support to the organisation and running of scientific workshops, user consultation meetings, and training courses.
Requirements
  • EO Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of satellite remote sensing and experience in remote sensing data processing and analysis, particularly of optical/hyperspectral/thermal land sensors.
  • Education: PhD in Physics, Remote Sensing, or similar is an asset.
Desirable Skills
  • Scientific Programming: Experience in scientific programming languages such as Python, Matlab, C, C++, IDL.
  • Data Processing: Experience in data processing within a cloud environment, Artificial Intelligence methods, and modeling.
  • Sentinel Data Processing: Experience in sentinel data processing using ESA sentinel toolboxes.
  • Project Management: Experience in scientific and application project management.
  • Technical and Analytical Skills: Good technical and analytical skills.
  • Documentation Writing: Good documentation writing skills.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken). French speaking and experience with SAR remote sensing would be appreciated.
