Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and service customer equipment and systems according to Valmet's service procedures and safety protocols.
  • Set up machinery and provide prompt assistance to resolve technical issues related to processes, machinery, or tools.
  • Conduct process checks and quality control to improve product quality and propose improvement solutions to customers.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on customer installations to ensure and optimize equipment performance.
  • Proactively evaluate and suggest spare parts or improvements to customers for equipment updates.
  • Deliver training to customers' sites or in-house.
  • Collaborate with the technical department for programming software and improving technical solutions.
  • Ensure the achievement of predefined objectives, guaranteeing customer satisfaction within agreed timelines.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A technical school diploma or degree in Electronic, Software, Automation, Informatics, or similar fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Software Technician in the manufacturing industry, with experience in converting industry being a plus.
  • Experience with Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming/Safety.
  • Experience with Siemens S7, Tia Portal (especially CPU Siemens 1500-TF); Rockwell RSLogix 5000, Siemens WinCC, SIMATIC WinCC Unified (JavaScript).
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365, SAP, and 2D CAD.
  • A structured approach to complete tasks according to targets and schedules.
  • A structured and systematic approach to execute given tasks.
  • Strong skills in complex troubleshooting.
  • Service orientation.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, and a proactive approach to work.
  • Respect for quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Availability and willingness to travel.
  • Fluency in English and Italian.
