Position Overview
The selected candidate will be engaged in a cutting-edge research initiative focused on enhancing Computer-Assisted Laser Microsurgery (CALM) technology for clinical applications. This multidisciplinary endeavor involves collaboration among engineers and medical professionals, aiming to advance a sophisticated CALM prototype to clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement low-level control algorithms for CALM technology.
- Develop firmware for seamless integration with user interfaces and surgical devices.
- Conduct performance testing and validation of CALM functionalities.
- Create high-level controllers to enable autonomous features and improve usability.
- Prepare documentation and reports, contributing to academic publications.
Essential Qualifications
- MSc degree in Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related fields.
- Proven experience in firmware design and development for mechatronic systems.
- Strong background in control systems engineering and implementation.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Matlab.
- Ability to effectively organize, document, and report on project advancements.
- Genuine interest in medical devices and surgical technologies.
Additional Desired Skills
- Experience in robotic systems design and development.
- Familiarity with user interface development (both hardware and software).
