Job Overview
Burberry Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Development Manager to lead the development of our luxury accessories collections. As a key member of our Product Development team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality products that meet our brand's exceptional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our Design team to develop each category from initial concept to finished product, ensuring alignment with our Design brief and business objectives.
- Provide expert guidance and support to Product Developers and Assistants, ensuring timely delivery of collections and adherence to budget and critical path.
- Work closely with Merchandising and Global Sourcing teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination throughout the development process.
- Manage vendor allocation and ensure all RM requirements are distributed directly from our internal warehouse to suppliers and manufacturers for prototypes and samples.
- Develop and maintain a development critical path with manufacturers, ensuring timely delivery of prototypes and samples.
- Work with costing teams and vendors to build visibility on costs for prototypes, samples, and production prices for each piece of the collection.
- Ensure all necessary data requirements are captured in our system and maintain diligent data management practices.
- Provide critical information to Merchandising, Press, Marketing, and other relevant teams, including product codes, composition, and description.
- Work closely with QA/QC to ensure product testing meets relevant standards prior to production.
- Ensure BOMs are completed for raw material prebuys and execute a smooth handover to Production of all ranges of products.
Requirements
- Proven experience in product development within the luxury business, with a focus on accessories.
- Strong computer literacy, including PLM, SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced business environment.
- Prior experience working alongside Senior Designers and a strong understanding of their needs and requirements.
- Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at all Executive levels.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet the ever-changing demands of the business.
