Key Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable growth in the Marine sector by developing innovative solutions for intricate risks. You will manage underwriting for a diverse portfolio of new and renewal business, utilizing your established relationship-building capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with brokers to articulate our risk appetite and value proposition, while gaining insights into deal structures, terms, and products that align with client requirements. Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structures with brokers and clients.
  • Expand your broker network to generate new business opportunities, participate in broker events, and cultivate new market relationships. Work in conjunction with AIG Distribution, territory managers, and underwriters from other lines of business to identify desirable accounts and cross-selling prospects.
  • As a senior team member, you will exemplify exceptional customer service standards for brokers and clients, serving as a role model for junior colleagues. Additionally, you will provide mentorship, guidance, and training to less-experienced underwriters, assisting them in developing their broker networks.

Qualifications for Success

  • Demonstrated underwriting experience with a solid understanding of Marine.
  • Ability to analyze financial documents effectively.
  • Exceptional communication, networking, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Customer-focused and sales-oriented mindset: motivated, persistent, technically proficient, proactive, and accountable.
  • Willingness to engage in mentoring and training, even if you have not previously held these responsibilities.
