Site Operations Division

The Site Operations Division is accountable for the overall functionality of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, and the performance of all data modules within our data centers. Our team operates 24/7 on-site with Critical Facilities Engineers (CFEs) on shift. This team represents Vantage to our clients and ensures business continuity and operational excellence across our campus, as well as the performance of our client installations. Utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and monitor maintenance activities, the Site Operations Division is responsible for all preventive and corrective maintenance. Position Summary

The Director of Site Operations oversees the overall management of our data center campus and will directly supervise a team of CFEs and/or managerial positions. This role will collaborate with Reliability Engineering, Design Engineering & Construction, and other resources to manage the entire campus. Responsibilities include managing workflow/work order management, training programs, event management, client communications, hiring, and performance management of the overall team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations and engineering functions at the facility, ensuring safe and effective operation of machinery and building systems.
  • Lead the site team to guarantee a high-level customer experience and operational excellence.
  • Ensure that availability and capacity targets are consistently met for data centers and technical infrastructure.
  • Promote a team-oriented environment through constructive feedback.
  • Hold team members accountable for preventive and corrective maintenance of facility equipment.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and resolve any service-related issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the engineering and operational aspects of building systems, recognizing performance deficiencies and responding to operational and emergency situations.
  • Ensure comprehensive training for all facility engineers and personnel on electrical/mechanical equipment, system maintenance, repairs, and operations.
  • Implement and uphold Vantage policies on-site regarding safety, security, quality, and information systems.
  • Contribute to the documentation of crisis management processes for the site.
  • Collaborate with Vantage Operations at the country level on all maintenance activities related to technical installations.
  • Demonstrate and implement best practices for seamless customer project execution, ensuring compliance with contract terms and obligations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of direct managerial experience with strong interpersonal skills is preferred.
  • Experience in Data Center or Critical Infrastructure industries is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of physical security in critical environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and external vendors.
  • Proven ability to manage through significant changes in people, processes, and technology.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and influence at senior levels.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office 365.
