Site Superintendent - Growing on Site

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact with customers and third-party vendors for the supervision of pre-lay activities related to the power cable system.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between customers, civil works contractors, and cable laying subcontractors for planning and execution of activities.
  • Supervise the laying operation performed by subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and quality standards.
  • Maintain a detailed record of site activities, monitoring the execution of subcontractors against the submitted plan and contract requirements.
  • Oversee the backfilling operation carried out by a third-party company, ensuring timely, high-quality, and cable-protective execution.
  • Ensure effective site management, encompassing personnel, assets, technical aspects, logistics, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) management.
  • Enforce site safety protocols to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure adherence to internal rules and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Installation Engineering to prepare method statements and other necessary documentation for site work.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a construction site context, preferably in the cable industry.
  • Strong knowledge of technical aspects and experience in installation activities on land sites.
  • Leadership skills and ability to guide a team towards achieving project objectives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients and subcontractors.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on prioritization and coordination with management.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
  • Proficiency in basic software tools, including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and Internet use.
  • Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken.
  • Availability for frequent travel, both domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to spend extended periods abroad on site (approximately 60-70% per year).
  • Flexibility in work programming.
  • Valid driving license.
