Role:Head of Care – Patent Attorney Location:Italy - Parma (Hybrid working) Sector:Intellectual Property Salary:€ CompetitiveThe Company and Role:We are partnered with a research-focused pharmaceutical and healthcare group, who are looking to appoint a Patent Attorney as Head of Care. You will be the Head of IP for the CARE franchise, dealing with all the IP activities needed to secure the company’s IP rights in such a business unit, providing support to both internal Research & Development projects and those intended for in-licensing.Key Responsibilities:Take full IP responsibility for the CARE franchise, acting as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, reporting to the VP Head of global IP. Provide infringement and validity advice, and educate the stakeholders in IP matter, also regarding litigation and competition. Draft and prosecution of patent applications worldwide. Monitor and assessment of third party’s patents, also in collaboration with internal competitive intelligence team. Perform Due Diligences in close collaboration with legal and commercial teams, performing patentability and freedom to operate analysis, as well as reviewing and drafting IP clauses when appropriate. Provide support to opposition and litigation proceedings.The Candidate:The successful candidate will have:Master’s degree in life science (or equivalent), with a good understanding of biological subject matter, and a willingness to improve these skills on the field. At least 5 years of experience within pharmaceutical industry or IP/Law Firms, with proved experience in handling complex IP matters and projects. Good leadership and knowledge of R&D lifecycle and pharma business are essential for the role.
