Strategic Customer Engagements Deal Manager, DL - Public Sector - USJob ID: | Amazon Web Services, Inc.Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a member for the Strategic Customer Engagements (SCE) Public Sector team. This unique opportunity involves engaging with AWS public sector customers on strategic opportunities, growing the AWS Americas Public Sector, and establishing AWS as their key cloud technology provider.As a member of SCE, you will lead end‑to‑end deal cycle leadership for strategic, large, complex, or highly competitive deals. You will earn customer trust by creating actionable strategies, shaping opportunities, and leading deal engagements through negotiations and closure. This highly visible role will align with C‑level executives, IT teams, and multiple lines of business to achieve business outcomes, increase AWS service adoption, and enable private pricing, go‑to‑market, pan‑Amazon, and other strategic relationships.The ideal candidate has customer‑facing experience, proven collaboration across internal and external stakeholders, and high business judgment.Key Job ResponsibilitiesLead negotiations and customer closure for strategic, large, complex or highly competitive deals.Develop and shape overall deal strategy and structure to meet customer business outcomes and goals.Contribute to developing AWS’s value proposition and solutions.Drive revenue growth and cloud adoption.Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across North America regional public sector sales teams and related regional and global stakeholders (service teams, finance, legal, etc.).Act as a trusted advisor in the development of the commercial strategy of deals with AWS Field Sales Executives, and partner in the execution of the sales cycle for strategic, complex or highly competitive opportunities.Inspire, influence, and facilitate alignment with internal stakeholders, experts, and other resources not under direct control to remove obstacles and achieve desired business outcomes.Develop strategies for pricing and discounts; effectively communicate and identify deal blockers.Lead or support presentation of deal proposals to customers.Basic Qualifications8+ years of demonstrated success working with customers on substantial, strategic, and complex software or cloud services/infrastructure deals from opportunity through closure.8+ years of experience presenting to and negotiating with C‑level executives, IT, lines of business, procurement, finance, legal, and internal stakeholders for sizeable commercial/enterprise deals.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Technology, or Finance (or equivalent work experience).Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree or equivalent relevant experience.Direct field experience working with enterprise accounts.Knowledge of AWS products and services.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.BenefitsAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Amazon’s compensation reflects labor costs across U.S. geographic markets. The base pay ranges from $128,600/year in the lowest market up to $212,600/year in the highest market. Pay is based on market location and may vary.
