Software Development Manager, Last Mile Payments, Last Mile Payments Come help Amazon create and deploy cutting edge technologies to deliver packages to the customer's doorstep As a Software Development Manager in the Last Mile Payments team, you will be instrumental in building a next generation payments platform handling billions of dollars for the Last Mile business. The Last Mile Payments team supports multiple businesses globally, creating the technology that supports payments for delivery businesses such as Prime Now, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Restaurants, Amazon Lockers, and other current and new initiatives.If leading a high‑performance team to innovate is your forte, this is the place for you Our team is seeking an SDM to manage the Last Mile Payments Team. The successful candidate is expected to be a hands‑on technical manager who understands and sets a high bar for all parts of the software development and deployment life‑cycle including: design, development, documentation, testing and operations. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self‑driven and deliver high‑quality results in a fast paced environment. We're looking for people who are smart and can get things done.Basic Qualifications3+ years of engineering team management experience7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersExperience in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front‑end user interfaces through to back‑end systems and all points in betweenOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
