**Your Role**:
This position is temporary and full time and reports to the Florence Assistant Director. The Housing Coordinator will serve as the main point of reference for both parties involved in the rental of CEA CAPA student housing: students, and housing agencies/landlords.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Ensure student housing is up to CEA CAPA standards.
- Assign students to housing available (which will vary each term), with particular attention to:

- Type of housing request
- Students' self-descriptive language regarding gender identification
- Enlist appropriate assistance to resolve in a timely manner all student maintenance requests and follow until satisfactory completion. This may also mean that checking apartments in person is required in certain situations.
- Keep track of student maintenance requests to check against end-of-term incidental billing charges by vendors.
- Contain to a minimum any spending for housing purposes.
- Assist Center Director and Assistant Director as necessary in negotiating rent with vendors.
- Complete all legal responsibilities for CEA CAPA for housing: especially reporting the _cessione di fabbricato _within the required timeline.
- Maintain positive relationships with homestay families, and take responsibility for ensuring students feel comfortable in their housing and with their “family”.
- Assist Center Director with TSH housing vendors and any student issues that may arise.
- Serve as point of reference for “Italian Roommates,” and coordinate with other staff members to make use of their services beyond those required within their apartments.
- Lead apartment checks when necessary during semesters/summers, which may include meter reading during Spring or Fall breaks.
- Lead organization for student arrivals.
- Assist colleagues to field and answer non-housing related questions and issues, including those related to health & safety.
- Actively participate in Orientation, offering full and clear explanations of housing standards, rules, expectations, etc.
- Participate in emergency phone rotation with other staff members.
- Participate in or chaperone local and out-of-town activities, events and efforts with Florence staff as assigned or needed: Student Activities, Excursions.
- Laurea or Bachelor’s degree required.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Italian.
- Authorizion to work in Italy.
- 3+ years of experience in a study abroad environment as staff.
- 2+ years of experience in housing.
- Solid computer abilities and comfort using a PC (Microsoft); no fear of IT troubleshooting.
