External Communication Director

Pfizer Italy is recruiting a brilliant and talented **Director of External Communications **that will work to protect and enhance Pfizer's reputation In Italy.

The Director of External Communications is a senior position reporting in through Pfizer Global Corporate Affairs, acts as company spokesperson and provides senior communications counsel to Pfizer Italy Leadership Team (CLT) and Country Manager.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- You will be responsible for creation and execution of Pfizer's external communications strategy in Italy including social media and digital platforms. You will work in close collaboration with the Country Manager, Country Leadership Team and Corporate Affairs at group level and provide strategic communications support for commercial and manufacturing business in Italy;
- You will be responsible for the smooth running of the press office function and digital channels ensuring management of all media issues in close alignment with our regional and global network;
- You will maintain excellent relations with Italian media acting as company spokesperson as needed;
- You will localise global communications strategies and integrate them into local operational strategies for Pfizer Italy to drive priority corporate and scientific topics;
- You will work closely with colleagues across Corporate Affairs (Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy) to ensure an integrated and effective approach to our mission;
- You will be active in the relevant associations and professional bodies representing the interests of Pfizer Italy in relation to External Communications;
- You will have budget and planning responsibility for the communications function.

**What you Offer**:

- 10+ years of experience in public relations/communication (senior roles), preferably in the pharmaceutical /healthcare industry. International experience is desirable;
- Senior level strategic advisor with significant experience in developing and delivering communications strategies and plans for diverse stakeholders;
- Strong experience in leading effective teams and proven ability to collaborate, align and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities;
- Significant experience in media relations and proven track record of issues management and crisis communication with a strong and established media network in Italy;
- Good knowledge of the Italian health system and understanding of the field of biomedical sciences and enthusiasm for complex medical topics;
- Fluency in written and spoken professional English and Italian;
- You are a natural collaborator, inspiring leader and have experience working in organisations with multi-disciplinary teams and have excellent relationship building competencies and the ability to engage participation from all levels within the company and with external stakeholders;
- Ability to collaborate with senior level management, influence and get things done in a global matrix organization;
- Excellent writing skills, sense of storytelling and strong spokesperson skills;
- Ability to advise, analyse and synthesis complex information to develop strategic vision and recommendations;
- Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically and to make strategies work in the operations;
- Ability to demonstrate solution-focused, innovative thinking.
