Manufacturability Technical Leader

Innovation Engineering develops leading edge technologies to enhance the competitiveness of our products and to support the new products introduction. The Manufacturability Staff, within the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Organization, is accountable for all feasibility and producibility assessments, technology selection and industrialization on all main New Products Development programs inside IET organization. We are responsible for assuring Technology Injection on new and existing products, linking Supply Chain capabilities with Product requirements. **Roles and Responsibilities**

As Manufacturability Technical Leader you will look at the new product development from a systemic perspective taking care of influencing design decisions considering all the producibility aspects and cost competitiveness.

You will assess the manufacturability and assure the producibility of all the critical components of the new products in accordance with program schedule as well as costs, quality, reliability, and performance requirements, covering a bridging role between Engineering and Supply Chain functions.

You will work in close contact with all the Innovation Labs and you will leverage on the support of Subject Matter Experts.You will develop - together with design engineers - the best design solutions, you will collaborate with the Global Supply Chain in the introduction of new products leading their industrialization and supporting the rump-up of the production.

As Manufacturability Technical Leader you will be responsible for:

- Translating product requirements into producibility features supporting the assessment on technology selection, material selection based on manufacturing capabilities orienting technical choices and taking advantage of the support of Innovation Labs
- Identifying, from the very beginning of each program, any possible manufacturing capability limits and/or technological risks taking care of proposing mitigation actions both in terms of design changes and dedicated technology developments
- Assessing the manufacturability of new products looking at the production process from a systemic perspective, defining the manufacturing process sequence leveraging also on the support of Innovation Engineering’s CTHs
- Approving preliminary designs or recommending modifications based on knowledge of main conventional and non-conventional manufacturing technologies and their related capabilities assessing the related process performances
- Supporting the Innovation Labs personnel giving indications on the execution of all the laboratory operations related to the production of prototypes and/or mock-ups needed to validate systems, sub-systems and/or components
- Driving the execution of Industrialization activities acting as reference point for the Innovation Engineering Organization impacting productivity, costs, quality, reliability and performance of all new products
- Leading the Manufacturability Reviews according to product development plan and issuing the Manufacturability Reports

**Required Qualifications**

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- At least 5 years of work experience in a Supply Chain or an Engineering role in an Industrial Environment with specific proven experience in Manufacturing, Product Engineering
- Very good knowledge of manufacturing technologies typically used in in turbomachinery production
- Prior experience with specific focus on managing complex technical projects
- Proven ability in coordinating multi functional teams and in working in a matrix environment
- Problem-solving attitude and ability to tackle complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Leadership, positive attitude, great interpersonal capabilities. Empathy, influencing abilities, good presentation, communication skills. Passion for technology and natural curiosity.
- Full professional proficiency in English and Italian and proven working experience in a global environment
- EU Work Permit

**Desired qualification**

Following characteristics will be considered as a plus in selection process:

- MSc or PhD in Engineering
- Proven experience with Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement tools; Six sigma Black Belt Certification
- Strong systems thinking capabilities; previous experience as Systems Engineer, INCOSE Certification
- NCA/RCA Leader certification will be considered as a plus
- Specific knowledge of IET products and technologies as well as capabilities of the competition
