As a Lab Chemist, part of the R&D and Product Development team, you will use lab tools to develop, industrialize and support manufacturing activities for our Collision, Commercial Transportation and Light Industrial Coating products range required to meet customer needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop advanced materials and formulations for industrial and commercial use.
- Design and execute laboratory experiments to test the performances of coating materials.
- Connect with suppliers and stay updated on their newest market innovations
- Analyze and interpret experimental results acquired.
- Maintain and communicate results through written and verbal reports.
- Cooperate with different functions within all PPG divisions and external parties (i.e. Marketing, other areas of R&D, Suppliers/Customers).
- Ensure compliance with regional EU and national quality standards and safety norms.
- Support the countries’ sales force in developing valuable products in a timely manner and providing customized paint system information/test results.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical engineering or equivalent. Ph.D. as a nice-to-have
- 1+ year experience in the painting/coating R&D activities or similar products/industries
- Knowledge of industrial lab materials
- Able to work optimally with all levels of sales, marketing, management, customers.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple activities
- Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
- Good computer skills (e.g. Microsoft suite)
