Airbnb is seeking a Communications Intern to join the Italy Communications team for a full-time, 6-month internship.

The Communications team at Airbnb is responsible for telling our story around the world. Whether we are briefing press on inspiring travel trends, highlighting unique experiences led by local hosts, or explaining how travel on our platform benefits local families and communities, we are the voice of Airbnb on a broad range of topics.

**The difference you will make**:
You’ll support our consumer communications manager on Press relations and influencer campaigns.

**Press Office**:

- Assist in the creation of press releases and press kits, including storytelling ideation, coordinating with agencies to format materials into press kits, drafting press releases, and developing additional supporting creative assets.
- Coordinate with agency partners on local communication initiatives, media plans, strategic announcements, and other media-related topics.
- Overview internal reporting workflows such as populating weekly reports for Italy, and keeping the communication calendars up-to-date.
- Generate reports by analyzing KPIs from internal monitoring tools.

**Project Management**:

- Project management planning: ability to support in creating and maintaining one-pagers, Google Slides, Excel sheets and reports to track activities for various communication initiatives.
- Manage the publishing of newsroom posts for the Italian communications team.
- Oversee calendar invitations for the Italian communications team.
- Assist in organizing press conferences & media events.

**Influencers**:

- Assist in coordinating with agencies for organizing trips / events for influencers.
- Learning about reporting on influencers campaigns.

**A typical day**:
As an intern, you’ll be integrated into a team where you’ll contribute to challenging projects. We provide the support, mentorship, fun, and real world experience needed to accelerate your learning and make a real impact on our product, as Airbnb revolutionizes connection, belonging, and travel. You can expect to:

- Update the weekly communications calendar and project tracking tools.
- Review internal media monitoring tools to compile reports and analyze brand and competitor social media for insights.
- Create and update slide decks, documents, and compile editorial press pitches and Newsroom posts.
- Participate in and support internal coordination meetings with other functions and departments.
- Analyze social media performance for brand and influencer partners, prepare metrics and reports, and assist in talent consultant needs, team coordination, and scheduling meetings.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the Communications and broader Airbnb community

**Your expertise**:

- Enrolled in the last year of a University or a Masters degree program in a related field (Communications, Public Relations)
- Fluent (written and spoken) in English and Italian with C1 level proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Proficient in Google Suite and social media platforms
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
- Basic knowledge of the Italian media landscape
- Ability to maintain enthusiasm and composure in demanding situations
- Passion for communications and keeping up with industry trends
- Previous internship experience in Public Relations or Communications
- Nice to Haves:_
- Experience in PR and media relations, e.g. agency or editorial or journalistic experience
- An international outlook and passion for travel

**Your location**:
This position is hybrid and you must be living in Milan, Italy and have work authorization for Italy to be eligible.
