Head of Infrastructure

Datwyler IT Services is the IT wing of the Datwyler Group. We work alongside the Datwyler group companies and Business units to ensure Datwyler has an IT strategy that allows us to transform our Information infrastructure to keep abreast with the digital needs of our group companies. **Job Summary**:
The Head of Infrastructure is a critical leader that enables business agility and operational excellence by ensuring that the IT backbone is secure, reliable, efficient, and future-ready. They design, implement, and maintain a robust, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure that supports the organization’s business operations and strategic goals. This includes managing local data rooms, private cloud environments, networks, and cybersecurity to ensure high availability, operational efficiency, and compliance.

The role also involves driving innovation through the adoption of modern technologies, optimizing resource utilization, and aligning infrastructure strategies with the organization’s long-term objectives in a manufacturing environment.

The role reports to Datwyler's CIO and interacts with Executive leadership, Business Unit Leaders, IT partners and vendors, peer groups in ICT.

**Main Tasks and Responsibilities**:
**Strategic Leadership**:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive infrastructure strategy that supports the organization’s growth and digital transformation goals.
- Oversee the integration of on-premises systems, cloud solutions, and hybrid environments to ensure operational agility and scalability.
- Collaborate with business units to understand infrastructure requirements and deliver tailored solutions compliant to the overall Enterprise Architecture.

**Infrastructure Management**:

- Oversee cloud environments, including public, private, and hybrid cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Lead the operation and optimization of local data rooms, including compute, storage, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Manage enterprise networks to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Ensure timely patching, updating, and upgrading of infrastructure components to maintain performance and security.

**Cybersecurity and Compliance**:

- Work within a robust ISMS framework to protect the organization against threats and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability testing to safeguard the organization’s infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to develop and enforce security policies and protocols.

**Vendor and budget Management**:

- Manage relationships with infrastructure vendors, service providers, and contractors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality services.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with third-party providers.
- Oversee the infrastructure budget, ensuring cost efficiency while meeting business requirements.

**Performance monitoring and Optimization**:

- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for infrastructure reliability, scalability, and security.
- Continuously assess and optimize infrastructure performance, ensuring mínimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Drive innovation by exploring and implementing emerging technologies in infrastructure management.

**Team Leadership & Development**:

- Lead a high-performing infrastructure team, including network engineers, system administrators and security specialists.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Provide mentorship and development opportunities to team members to enhance technical capabilities and leadership skills.

**KPI**:

- Infrastructure uptime and availability metrics.
- Adherence to regulatory and industry compliance standards (ISO 27001, TISAX, GDPR).
- Vendor compliance with SLAs and delivery of contracted services.
- Successful integration of emerging technologies.
- Improvement in IT system performance and scalability.
