Engineering Operations Leader

**Job Description Summary**: The Engineering Operations Leader - Sub-section Manager will lead and coach the engineering operation leaders within his/her team and across the Engineering Organization to reach short and long term Engineering Goals.

In this role he/she ensures efficient operations and drives a culture of planning and program control across the engineering function and the whole Company. He/she spreads the culture of Improvement, simplification and productivity in full respect of budget and schedule constraints.

**Essential Responsibilities**

The Engineering Operations Leader - Sub-section Manager will proactively collaborate with Avio Aero engineering sections Operation Leaders, Section Managers and GE Aviation Operations leaders to deliver the Engineering goals with assigned resources, create value for internal/external Customers and strengthening the collaboration and network with GE Aviation community.

In particular in this role he/she will:

- Lead all financial process from the strategy review, budget definition to execution in interaction with finance, engineering team leaders, operation leaders, product strategy leaders and program managers.
- have accountability to plan and control all the Engineering costs (i.e. OCPH, yield, OverTime..), define objectives and support the process to identify resources and collaborations across both GE organizations and external suppliers
- actively manage the engineering services supplier relationship, the Outsourcing budget, supplier engagement engineering process and support the P&E definition.
- Measure and analyze the Engineering Performance by tracking financial KPI and promoting recovery actions within Engineering Organization. Report-out status to senior leadership.
- Implement in Avio Aero planning tool financial planning of programs as required by Engineering Sections
- Lead operations activities of Experimental testing and Services Engineering teams.
- Use Lean tool and culture to simplify engineering process related to KPI tracking, budget definition, resource planning and outsourcing management
- Support Engineering leaders to implement any strategic initiative (e.g. public funding initiatives: European, national or regional)
- Support and coordinate activities with Engineering Leadership team (i.e. Staff meetings, engineering recognition day, Federated Europe, global updates within GE Aviation)
- Use lean principles while mentoring assigned resources (internal and external) on priorities definition (long term and day-by-day) and plan execution using a risk management approach
- Use problem Solving approach to reach assigned target in a timely manner leveraging on data driven decision making approach
- Coach the assigned resources through career path definition according to their career aspiration and business needs

**Qualifications/Requirements**
- Master Degree from an accredited university or college (preferred Engineering or Economics)
- Experience in operations management of a complex organization
- Project Management principle knowledge
- Economics, Financial and Accounting (advanced) principles knowledge
- Ability to develop strategies and execute plans with a sense of urgency
- Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Project) proficiency
- Fluent English and Italian, both written and oral
- Good interpersonal and communication skill
- Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

**Desired Characteristics**
- Knowledge of AvioAero Planning/Accounting tools (SAP, SPP)
- Knowledge of Avio Aero products
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
- Ability to guide and lead others in a matrix organization
