Job Title: Application Engineer

Location: Cantù (CO)

Application
Engineer is the role involved the programming, commissioning and testing of automation systems and robots to be installed in the production departments of BLM GROUP customers.

Responsabilities

  • Analyse the technical and functional requirements of the industrial plants and robots to be programmed;
  • Design and develop control software for PLCs, HMI interfaces and robots; 
  • Ensure the correct functioning and absence of errors in the software developed.

Activities

  • Writing, developing, implementing and testing control software using specific languages and environments for PLCs and robots;
  • Testing, simulating and debugging programmes to ensure the correct functioning and safety of the system; 
  • Installing and commissioning systems and robots at customer companies; 
  • Testing the system to ensure compliance with production, quality and sales objectives, including in the presence of the customer;
  • Training on the use of the software, the operating principles of the system and maintenance, for both internal staff and the customer's staff;
  • Technical support, assistance and maintenance of the software, intervening for updates and optimisations;
  • Contribution to the drafting of technical documentation, operating manuals and testing repo

Must have

  • Technical diploma (Mechatronics, Electronics, IT, Automation) and post-diploma specialisation (ITS) ·
  • Knowledge of programming logic;
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and wiring diagrams;
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics; 
  • Competence in written and spoken English (Level B2/C1);
  • Competence in written and spoken Italian (Level B2);
  • Ability to use a PC independently (Office, email, and the most common IT tools for data management);
  • Interpersonal skills, useful for interacting constructively and proactively with customers and colleagues; 
  • Personal qualities of flexibility, dynamism, sense of responsibility, ability to take on tasks appropriate to demonstrated knowledge.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge/skills in ABB and KUKA robot programming languages (RAPID and KRL languages);
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
