The Project Manager at BlueRock TMS is responsible for leading the successful delivery of TMS implementation projects. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, including Technical Business Analysts, Dev-Ops, Middleware, and Customer Success, to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will also play a key role in driving the adoption of product-driven methodologies, API standardisation, and best practice templates, ensuring that customers achieve optimal results from their BlueRock TMS deployment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Execution:

    • Lead the end-to-end project management of BlueRock TMS implementation projects, from initiation through delivery.

    • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

    • Ensure on-time milestone compliance and full project delivery within budget, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Coordinate and manage cross-functional project teams, including Technical Business Analysts, Middleware specialists, and other key stakeholders.

    • Collaborate closely with the Technical Business Analyst to design, implement, test, and deploy BlueRock TMS, ensuring alignment with customer needs and product best practices.

    • Work with the Middleware team to onboard Logistics Service Providers and integrate third-party systems such as WMS, ERP, Visibility Providers, and Customs Solutions.

  • Customer Engagement:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during the project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication and effective expectations management.

    • Lead project kick-off meetings, requirement-gathering sessions, and post-implementation reviews to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

    • Conduct regular status meetings and update customers and internal stakeholders on project progress, risks, and issues.

  • Quality Assurance & Best Practices:

    • Ensure all projects adhere to BlueRock TMS's quality standards, including using best practice templates and product-driven methodologies.

    • Oversee & support the testing and validation of TMS deployments, working with the Technical Business Analyst to ensure all solutions meet customer requirements.

    • Drive the adoption of standardized processes and tools to enhance project delivery efficiency and consistency.

  • API Utilization & Integration:

    • Lead efforts to standardize and optimize API connections between BlueRock TMS and third-party systems, ensuring seamless integration and data flow.

    • Work with the Technical Business Analyst to promote the effective use of APIs by customers and partners, driving greater adoption and value from the TMS platform.

    • Manage technical dependencies and integration points to minimize risks and ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Risk Management & Problem Resolution:

    • Proactively identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to address potential issues before they impact project delivery.

    • Resolve conflicts and obstacles during the project lifecycle, ensuring that teams remain focused and aligned with project goals.

    • Escalate critical issues to senior management as needed, with recommendations for resolution.

  • Billing & Financial Management:

    • Manage the financial aspects of projects, ensuring that all work is billed according to the standard Time and Materials (T+M) billing model.

    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project hours, achievements, and other billable activities to facilitate invoicing.

    • Collaborate with the finance team to send invoices and track payments, ensuring that projects remain financially healthy and within budget.

  • Reporting & Documentation:

    • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.

    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, risk logs, and post-implementation reports.

    • Contribute to continuously improving project management processes, tools, and templates.

Success Metrics

  • On-time delivery of TMS implementation projects within scope and budget.

  • Compliance with project milestones and financial targets.

  • Accurate and timely invoicing and financial reporting.

  • Customer satisfaction and success rates post-implementation.

  • Adoption of best practice templates and product-driven methodologies across projects.

  • Continuous improvement of project management processes and tools.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. 

    • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is a plus. 

  • Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferably within the SaaS or TMS industries.

    • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software implementation projects on time and within budget.

    • Experience working in a product-driven environment, with a strong understanding of software development and integration best practices.

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of TMS platforms and their applications in various industries.

    • Experience with API integration and standardization, particularly with systems such as WMS, ERP, Visibility Providers, and Customs Solutions.

    • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Jira, Asana, Rocketlane) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage customer relationships and stakeholder expectations.

    • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, focusing on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
