ACM Staffing is supporting a leading international service provider in the renewable energy sector to hire a Business Development Manager for the Italian market. The company focuses on operations & maintenance (O&M) and engineering/EPC for utility-scale photovoltaic assets, and also offers a proprietary software platform for renewable asset management.

The Opportunity

This role is for a commercially driven BD professional who understands the solar/renewables space in Italy and can convert market insight into revenue. You'll drive market development in Italy and work closely with senior leadership and technical teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy focused on both 
    financial performance and customer satisfaction
  • Research and identify new markets, segments and customer needs in Italy
  • Actively prospect (cold calling, social selling, networking) and convert inbound leads from web enquiries, events and the existing network
  • Prepare and negotiate offers, contracts, RFIs/RFPs and tender responses
  • Manage the full sales cycle: discovery, proposals, presentations/demos, pricing & scope negotiations, contract close and handover
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients for cross-sell, upsell and feedback
  • Track activities, pipeline, revenue and invoicing via the company CRM
  • Collaborate with marketing on targeted campaigns, materials and trade show strategy
  • Engage with subcontractors/third parties where needed to build competitive offers

What "Success" Looks Like (First 12 Months)

The hire will be considered successful if they have:

  • Secured approx. 
    200 MW in O&M
     contracts
  • Secured approx. 
    5 MW in EPC
     contracts
  • Built a visible, qualified pipeline in Italy and strengthened the company's position with key asset owners and developers

Ideal Profile:

  • 3–4 years' business development experience
     in renewables (ideally solar)
  • Strong understanding of the solar/renewables market, customer challenges and buying cycles
  • Mix of 
    existing Italian solar network and pure BD skill (around 50/50)
  • Comfortable owning a structured outreach plan and working independently
  • Experience preparing proposals, tenders and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Excellent English; Italian strongly preferred
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills
  • CRM-literate, organized, and disciplined with pipeline and activity management
  • High integrity, able to balance short-term wins with long-term relationships

     – frequent presence in the office is required, with some domestic and occasional European travel
