JOB TITLE: IT Security Consultant
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Regular Consultant (CST)

DURATION: 11 months (renewable)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Under the general supervision of the Chief TECI and the direct supervision of the Head of Cybersecurity Operations, the consultant will support the activities of the vulnerability management team as well as assist with the execution of IT security projects according to Project Management standards and methodology.
The incumbent will drive the Vulnerability Management (VM) program expansion and garner agreement within the organization for execution, including performing follow-up activities, to ensure vulnerabilities are remediated and VM agents are installed wherever appropriate. They will run vulnerability scans and report issues to asset owners, ensuring the Head of Cybersecurity Operations is kept up to date about the status of any risky applications or platforms. Regular reporting, including expanding the use of dashboards that show vulnerability status, remediation trends, and global expansion will also be a key priority. The consultant will also contribute to TECI's project management functions.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Execute vulnerability management scanning and reporting functions, in cooperation with system owners, to support remediation, and escalating where necessary.

•Perform follow-up activities with system owners, including UNICC in Rome, to ensure vulnerabilities are remediated.

•Support expansion of WFP's VM program to eventually cover all WFP assets, and plan for steady state with mechanisms in place to ensure VM activities remain part of asset owners' responsibilities.

•Continually right-size and manage VM licensing to ensure maximum coverage.

•Address or escalate governance and compliance issues related to the TECI work.

•Process cybersecurity intelligence feeds to determine their relevance to WFP, then communicate to the appropriate technical groups.

•Reduce risk to the organization by identifying deprecated or exposed protocols and operating systems, then work with asset owners to proactively reduce risks.

•Coordinate the rapid response of vulnerability remediations by maintaining an appropriate level of prioritization, focus and persistence.

•Define, document, and optimize new and existing processes owned by Vulnerability Management team. Propose enhancements to reporting for monitoring, alarms and other events related to security operations.

•Act as a branch focal point for the efficient monitoring and processing of service management tickets and Requests for Change (RFCs), escalating in case of need.

•Engage with colleagues within TECI and other TEC divisions to streamline processes coordinate vulnerability management activities and explore automations.

•Other duties, as assigned.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT

•Daily monitoring of vulnerability management and incident management consoles and, in case of manual remediation, raise tickets or provide to asset owners actions that need to be performed locally

•Expansion of the Vulnerability Management program to cover all of WFP and drive automation

•Expansion of reporting capabilities, visibility, and automation, including dashboards

•Vulnerability management documentation is up-to-date, clear, and accurate, published in the correct location, and easily accessible to team

•Consistent and precise communications and follow-ups with system owners.

•Administration of service management tickets, ensuring service requests and incidents are processed efficiently, with a focus on minimizing manual interventions through automation.

•End-to-end management and coordination of assigned RFP processes as per TECI SME input

•Liaise with other team members, UNICC and IT Service Desk for troubleshooting and documenting each issue related to the above

•Contribute to TECI outreach opportunities, including providing content for presentations / WFPgo posts / email announcements and awareness training

•Perform other cybersecurity related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Economics, related field, or unrelated degree with minimum 8 years in computing / technology field.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of cybersecurity
Knowledge & Skills:

•Sound IT Security skills, with both academic background and practical hands-on experience

•Solid IT Networking and OS skills

•In-depth expertise in Vulnerability Management platforms

•Experience in multinational organizations

•Desirable: IT Security and/or IT Audit certifications

•Certification in internationally recognized Project Management methodology, preferred

•Detail-oriented, Excellent communication, Ethics & Values, Teamwork, Client Orientation, Cognitive Capacity, Interpersonal Relations, Stress Resistance, Behavioural Flexibility, Leadership Capabilities.
Languages
Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP's working language, Portuguese.
